About
What the Image to Text (OCR) does
Accuracy depends almost entirely on the source image. Clean, high-contrast, straight-on text is recognised very reliably; handwriting, low resolution, heavy shadow and steep angles all degrade results sharply. Getting a better photo helps far more than any post-processing.
How it works
Using the Image to Text (OCR)
- 1Upload an image, or provide the URL of one.
- 2Optionally apply preprocessing such as greyscale or thresholding to improve contrast.
- 3Enable deskewing if the text is at a slight angle.
- 4The image is analysed and character shapes are recognised.
- 5The extracted text is returned, with a confidence score where available.
