What the Text Analysis Tool does
The derived figures are the interesting ones. Average words per sentence is a decent proxy for readability — much above 25 and prose starts to feel heavy. The frequency list surfaces which terms you actually lean on, which is useful both for checking keyword coverage and for catching a word you have unknowingly repeated nine times.
How it works
Using the Text Analysis Tool

- 2Words, sentences and paragraphs are counted, and unique words identified case-insensitively.
- 3Reading time is estimated at roughly 200 words per minute, a common average for silent reading.
- 4Average sentence length is calculated as words divided by sentences.
