Whitespace Remover

Text copied out of a PDF, an email or a spreadsheet usually arrives with spacing damage: double spaces between words, trailing spaces at line ends, or blank lines between every row. This tool offers four targeted fixes rather than one blunt one.

Hello world! This is spaced.
About

What the Whitespace Remover does

Pick the mode that matches the damage. 'Remove excess spaces' collapses runs of whitespace to a single space and is the right default for prose. 'Trim start & end' removes leading and trailing whitespace only, leaving internal spacing alone. 'Remove all spaces' is for building identifiers. 'Remove blank lines' compacts a list without touching the lines themselves.

How it works

Using the Whitespace Remover

  1. 1Paste the text you want to clean.
  2. 2Choose a mode based on what needs fixing.
  3. 3Excess-space mode collapses every run of whitespace — including tabs and newlines — into one space.
  4. 4Trim mode removes only leading and trailing whitespace from the whole block.
  5. 5Blank-line mode drops lines that contain nothing but whitespace, keeping the rest untouched.
